Since it is spring break from school, the scout leaders decided that this would be a
great time to have a scout hike. The hike is one of the requirements that a scout
needs to pass off for his pack. We went to Elena Gallegos, a trail that is at the foot
of the Sandia Mountains.
Orion was originally going to wear shorts, but when he saw all the other scout
having long pants on, we had to add his zipped bottom half that goes along with his
pants.
We hiked on a trail that is in the Pino Canyon. The trail is easier and flat.
Orion is now ready, and so we are off together as a family to join the scout pack.
Of course, Ma is never in the photos since she is always the photo taker. Payson
is crying because Addison is teasing him pretending to take his favorite blanket.
She does this quite often.
Here we go up, up, up the hiking trail. Some of the leaders have brought their
younger children as well. It is a family event for other families also. No dads
were there however, other than Pa.

To start off the evening, the scouts post the colors.
We then salute the flag and say the Pledge of Allegience.
Walking to the front while the audience watches.

The front side of Orion as the scouts are walking up the isle to post the colors.
After the scouts posted the colors, they sang a song for the audience.

David's visit
David was trying out a job in Texas, but it didn't work out, so he headed back to Salt Lake City. He made a stop at our house for three days to visit. While he was here he would tease Orion at different things. This is when they were playing tug of war with Orion's scout knot rope.
Notice that Orion uses both his hands while David is only using his right hand.
David is left handed, and his right hand is his weaker hand.
David wins hands down every time. They played tug-o-war over and over again.
Here is another tug-o-war
Orion tries with all he has got. This has gone on for several tug-o-wars. I only got the last two.
David wins again.
Orion decided he needed to be a little stronger, so he went to the cupboard and got out the VITAMINS!
And he took two vitamins.
