Thanksgiving 2015

This year
we had the smallest group for Thanksgiving Dinner.
Normally, we have at least 12 people,
but this year we only had 8.
Christian Martin,
Michelle Martin,
Her current boyfriend, Neville
Jerry Martin,
Michelle Johnson,
Orion Martin,
Ma and Pa.
Our beautiful turkey

Ma's Place Setting....
we all got
a name tag as to where we were
supposed to sit.
Our settings are beautifully adorned
with china from Lennox.
These plates cost $25 per plate.
The silverware was gold plated.
We felt like we were royalty
at such a beautiful table.
Our Beautiful Thanksgiving
dinner table.
The food was delicious.
We definitely had food a plenty.
So many blessings.
Turkey with all the trimmings.
It was a fun day,
but quiet.
We missed all those who
we did not get to see.
Our greatest blessing
is our family.

Super-moon Lunar Eclipse....or Blood moon

Ma was able to get a few good photos
from a small single camera
to remember the eclipse of the moon.
The eclipse is called the
Super-moon Lunar Eclipse
or Blood Moon.
The super moon just means
that it is a full moon, and looks extra large
because of its brightness.
The moon was hidden behind the Earth's shadow
as the sun shone on the earth, and the earth
was directly in the path of the light for the moon.
This photo was taken at 7:35 PM

The rest of the photos are taken about 10 minutes apart.

Ma's camera was able to capture
the redness of the atmosphere.
It caught the "red moon"
or "blood moon" look.

This photo was taken by TJ Mannos
from his home in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
It is a very good photo.

This was taken by ma's friend,
Gary Chavez.
We think it is a time lapse photo...
the white line on the left is an airplane.
But this photo is exactly what we were able
to see at around 9:00 PM
here in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Orion and his mustache

Now that Orion has turned 14 years old,
he has begun to grow a mustache.
He is proud of his whiskers.

Pa said he has to teach Orion how to shave now.
Orion is definitely growing up.

New Mexico State Fair 2015

It is that time of year again.
The New Mexico State Fair.

A friend of our family's won The Best Of show.
Yoland Fastle.
This was in the Manuel Lujan Building.
Yolanda modeling her dress.

Also, A friend and co-worker of Ma's entered his photo.
We were able to see it as well.
Nice Work Gary Chavez.
We had to make certain to visit
one of Orion's favorite places to go.

The Rail Road exhibit.

Then we went to the gift shop.
Look what we found.
This is Mom's kind of chili mix....
the one for Gringos.
This one is for the Natives of New Mexico.
It is the medium.
This one is for the crazies.
It is very hot.
We love to visit the Indian Village
where they have indian food
and dancing.
We saw the American Eagle
carved from a tree
posted by a Tee Pee
We saw a couple of squirrels.
Can you see him?

A carved bear by the Wigwam.
This little girl was about 3 years old.
This is how the family teaches the children.
The children participate, and watch, and
copy what the adults are doing.
She was very good.

While we watched the dances,
Orion ate his traditional
Fry bread.
You can eat it plain, or add honey.
Orion ate his with honey.

We were there at 4:00 PM
so we saw the Seasonal Dancers.
______________________________
Orion had fun at the
 Natural Resources Building
this year.
Forest Ranger
roasting marshmallows
at a camp fire
water fun
a butterfly
Dinosaurs

One of the highlights of visiting the
Natural Resources Building
is that Orion got a comic book.
It is the true story of
Smokey the Bear.
Orion went home and immediately read
the entire thing.
After that...........
Orion got to go on the zip liner
And then after that.....
This is the jumping trampoline
with a harness.

Orion got the hang of it,
and was able to jump sky high.

This was our visit to the 2015 New Mexico State Fair.
Not bad since we were limit on time this year.
We got to see and do all this in 3 hours.
We look forward to 2016
