The night at the Circus

For Orion's Birthday, we all decided to celebrate by
Going to the Shrine's Circus.  This was going to be
a fun time for sure.
Ma and Pa's ticket was the receipt from
Albertson's.  Orion got his ticket
from school.

Orion, Bubba and Michelle.

Macy and Addi-Belle

Payson, Pa and Ma
A Scottish band playing the bagpipes.
They played one of Pa's favorites songs.
It is an old Scottish folk song
called "Scotland Forever."
(We recognize the tune from
"Praise to the Man"
The Tigers and the trainer.
They did amazing tricks.
We were amazed.
Although it is hard to see, this tiger
is jumping through the ring of fire.
Tight rope walkers.  They did a lot of tricks.
One time one of them even did a flip on the rope.
Here is a photo of one walking with
another one on his back.
Of course there has to be a clown act.
These clowns "got busted"
when the amazing slimming machine
blew open.
This photo is the dog act.  The dogs were
very well trained.  The act was actually
funnier than the clown act.
This photo is of the bear.

These are a couple of elephants.
We had a blast.  The circus started
at 7:30 p.m. and by intermission,
the twins were beat.
These are all the photos
Ma was able to take,
Ma, Pa, the twins,
and Macy had to leave and
put them to bed.
Bubba, Michelle and Orion
stayed and saw the second half.
When Orion got home (at about 11:00 p.m.)
he was very happy and in a good mood.

The Pineood Derby in Scouts

February is the month that Orion is officially
going to be a Boy Scout.  He is graduation from
the Cub Scout program.  This is the last pinewood
                                                                            derby
that he well be attending as a participant.
The leaders laid each car out upside down so the
wheels would not be disturbed.  The racing is
taken very seriously.

no one is allowed by the race track.  All the
children lined up just outside the lined rope

The racing is all digital, so there is no mistake
on the times of each car.
(Orion's car is the middle right.)

On Orion's first race, his blue car jumped the track.
All the additional racing, his came in second.
Because of the first race, it put his scores
lower so he was not able to get 1st, 2nd or 3rd.

Trina Butler, the Den leader for pack 209
hankding out the medals to the boys.
All the boys got a medal.  The 1st, 2nd and 3rd
got a special medal.

Orion holding his car.
He pretty much made it this year
by himself.  Bubba came over the first
day to cut the design.  They sanded the car
and Orion painted the car.
Pa helped with the wheels.
The medal was very creative by Trina Butler.
It is a chocolate ding dong cake!
Orion was happy and ate it right up before
we even got home.
It was a fun event for the entire family.

A Day at Church

With small ones, it is sometimes difficult
to sit in a meeting that they do not understand,
So sometimes we just go straight to the nursery.
There is a speaker there so we can still all hear
the speakers in the meeting.  The speakers can be
turned off when there is a class being held in the
nursery.  Well, that is where we were today.

Funny Bion

For Christmas Pa got a new IPAD for ma.  She has never
used one before so she sat around experimenting with it.
When we all found out that there was a photo booth, Bion
decided that he wanted to try experimenting with it as well.
Here are some of the photos we took of Bion:

Winter Gala

The Kinder Care Day care put on a Winter Gala
in January with all the age group children.  They started
out with the one year olds, then two year olds, etc
up to the school aged kids age over five.
We stayed for the one year olds,
and of course the two year olds.
We left after that because several
parents came, and there was
not enought seating.

Addi-Belle is in the back row on the left,
and Payson is on the front row on the left.
They did a pretty good job singing
"Row, Row Your Boat," and
"The Wheels on the Bus"
The day care director Meredith
is on the very left.

Orion just could not resist being a part of the
action.

Bion's Christmas visit

We forgot to mention how much fun it was
to have Bion here with us during the Christmas
                                                           break from school.
Orion especially loves to play with Bion.
One of the days Bion was here, we all had a day
off work, and so mommy (Macy) wanted to
have us all go to the movies.  The boys were the
ones who picked out what we all were going to see.

They wanted to See TinTin, a movie based on
an old European (Belgium) comic strip.
The boys loved the movie because
it was full of adventure.
Another thing we saw while we were there was
The Chimpmunks.
It was because of another movie that
was playing in the same theater.
We could not resist a photo.
Some more adventures we had were
when we were shopping at the mall
looking for Christmas present ideas.
There is a Merry-Go-Round at the Coronado Mall
that the kids love to ride each time we go there.

Addi-Belle go off to soon to get a photo of her.
Around Christmas time, Orion ALWAYS
wears his Santa hat.  He wears it day
and night, and also to school.

Martin Luther King holiday

Everyone was excited to find out that we all had a day off together for
the Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday.  Pa, Ma, Orion and Michelle
went to eat lunch at Cracker Barrel Restaurant.  It is Orion's very
most favorite restaurant in the whole world.....mostly because he
thinks the toy shop is for kids to play with each toy and try them all out.

setting up the game
Done.  I think Orion must have
played Michelle about 10 games.
Orion made this single game for
one into a double for two.
