Living Room Disaster

This is something that happens everyday,
but these are only a few photos.
Sunday morning
This is what we found

and by later that  day a fort was built
with Orion's help
The table is the fort with the cushions around it
and the blankets are to get the light out.

Monday evening again
and then:
Wednesday.  Addi-Belle said that the
large cushion to the left is a slide.
Friday morning.
We pick the cushions up a bunch of times
only to find them scattered again.
This is exhausting work....
but the kids have a lot of fun
and it is safe.
(We just hope visitors are not coming)

Orion's Oral outpatient surgery

Orion has a problem.  His adult I teeth are growing in,
but his baby teeth will not fall out.  As a relult, he has
two sets of teeth.  He looks a little like he has the mouth of
the shark JAWS.
So we made an appointment with Dr. Buttner, an oral surgeon
and this is how it went.

First we got there by 8:45 A.M. on February 22, 2012
The nurses assistant came in to set Orion up.
They hooked him up to machines that could keep track of
his pulse, temperature, and blood pressure.
Orion had a bunch of things with wires
coming from him.  Then they gave him
an I.V. to  put him out.  He was terrified
because it was a SHOT.  Orion was not happy,
and we all had to hold him down.
But once the medicine was put in,
Orion was out within about 2 minutes.
Then Ma had to leave the room.
Pa was waiting out in the foyer.

This is Orion's mouth after the teeth were pulled.
The permanent teeth were growing behind
his baby teeth.
He may need braces, but we will see
if the teeth will correct themselves first.

Dr. Buttner gave us some chap stick for
Orion's dry lips, and a tooth for
Orion's teeth he pulled.
both teeth including roots.
Orion is going to really
win tonight with the tooth fairy.
Since Orion was not to have food or drink
(he was supposed to be on a fast for 6 hours prior)
before his surgery, we stopped at Sonic Drive Inn
on the way home so Orion could have a
chocolate milk shake.
This was his breakfast and lunch,
along with a bowl of applesauce.
He was only supposed to have soft things (like pudding)
for the first day after the surgery.
Orion had to keep gauze on his teeth to help stop the bleeding.
He just pretty much took it easy for the rest of the day.
Orion thought it was lucky to miss a day of school,
but he did not miss out on the homework.
His teacher sent both tuesdays and wednesdays work home.
He had a total of 12 pages.   Yuck

Orion's Family Home Evening

Orion was supposed to give a Family Home Evening
based on Joseph's First Vision.  He had to in order
to pass his religious requirements for scouts, (Duty to God)
and he also needed to pass his Faith in God for Primary.
So tonight Orion gave the Family Home Evening lesson.
Orion holding the book he used to teach his lesson.
It is called "The First Vision."

Orion could not teach and look at the book,
so he called Pa to come hold the book for him.

This is where Orion is telling that Joseph
was reading in the Bible.  He was showing
that we read the bible today also.

Orion really had a great time being the teacher.
He took his assignment very seriously.
Orion wants to be a teacher when he grows up.
We were all amazed at Orion's knowlege.
I guess he really does pay attention at church.

Brownies

Addi-Belle loves chocolate.  Mommy decided that it was
time to teach Addi-Belle how to make CHOCOLATE
brownies.  Addi-Belle couldn't wait.  She was so excited
to think she was going to help make such yummy treats.
So first mommy and her mixed up the mix.  Addi-Belle
was standing on a stool to help mix and stir.
These are the brownies.
They need to cook in the oven.

Addi-Belle is very proud.
Chocolate Chips are also
sprinkled on the top.
Now it is baking in the oven.

Addi-Belle looked in and said
"you can have that piece o.k. pa?"
Yum.  They were sure good
expecially when someone sweet makes them.

Art and more Art

Addi-Belle and Payson are quite the artists.  They really love to color.
Mommy decided that they might like to water color.  She gave them
some paper and paints and this is the rest of the story:

Orion's 11th Birthday

February 12, 2012 is the day Orion turned 11.
Orion is very proud to know that his birthday,
and Abraham Lincoln's birthday are on the same day.
Abraham Lincoln is now Orion's favorite President.

Orion with his birthday cake and balloons.

Orion's birthday cake looking down.
The cake was from Macy.
Power Rangers Samurai
from Bubba and Michelle

A Mario Beach towel from Chamron
Jack and Jacen.
A gift from Ma
A gift from Macy, Payson, Addi-Belle
and Bion.
Orion has wanted this one for
a very long time.

Jacen.

Orion blowing out his candles.
Addi-Belle helped....
and Payson got it in the face.
(The smoke from the candles that is.)
Later, Bubba and Orion went outside
and lit some firework rockets.
There were about six in a row.
Orion is looking up to see one of them
in the night sky.

The night at the Circus

For Orion's Birthday, we all decided to celebrate by
Going to the Shrine's Circus.  This was going to be
a fun time for sure.
Ma and Pa's ticket was the receipt from
Albertson's.  Orion got his ticket
from school.

Orion, Bubba and Michelle.

Macy and Addi-Belle

Payson, Pa and Ma
A Scottish band playing the bagpipes.
They played one of Pa's favorites songs.
It is an old Scottish folk song
called "Scotland Forever."
(We recognize the tune from
"Praise to the Man"
The Tigers and the trainer.
They did amazing tricks.
We were amazed.
Although it is hard to see, this tiger
is jumping through the ring of fire.
Tight rope walkers.  They did a lot of tricks.
One time one of them even did a flip on the rope.
Here is a photo of one walking with
another one on his back.
Of course there has to be a clown act.
These clowns "got busted"
when the amazing slimming machine
blew open.
This photo is the dog act.  The dogs were
very well trained.  The act was actually
funnier than the clown act.
This photo is of the bear.

These are a couple of elephants.
We had a blast.  The circus started
at 7:30 p.m. and by intermission,
the twins were beat.
These are all the photos
Ma was able to take,
Ma, Pa, the twins,
and Macy had to leave and
put them to bed.
Bubba, Michelle and Orion
stayed and saw the second half.
When Orion got home (at about 11:00 p.m.)
he was very happy and in a good mood.
