Going For A Walk

Today, (June 7, 2011) we all went for a short walk.
The twins had so much energy, we needed to just go for a walk.
Payson, Mommy (Macy) Addi-Belle and Orion are ahead

Now Ma is ahead and taking a picture from the other direction.

On our walk, we ran into a friendly cat.
Addi-Belle and Payson just loved it.
They are in the stage of loving every animal.

Payson especially could not resist petting it.
The cat did not mind either.

Addi-Belle pointing to the cat.

Now the cat is done, and ran away.

Mario/Orion

A lot of things have been happening around our house,
but Orion is missing out because he is a 10 years old
boy who loves to play on the WII or watch
cartoons.  Orion gets up at 6:00 A.M. to play
on the WII each day, and can't get enough of it.

He is playing Mario games today.  Mario is his favorite
WII game right now.  After he plays on the WII for a while
it is back to cartoons.  He plays WII and watches cartoons
almost all day now that school is out.

To get into the spirit of the game, Orion
wears his Mario cap.  It makes him feel
like he is the official Mario.

Pa said that yesterday Orion helped him
a lot in the yard, and they went shopping and
got themselves a haircut too.  Pa said that
he doesn't spend ALL his time in front of the T.V.
Well, it is summer vacation, and he only has two weeks
before summer school.  Might as well take
advantage of his play time while he can.

Smokey Sun (June 6, 2011)

At 5:22 P.M. the sun was blood red to look at.
The camera did not pick it up the way we were looking at it,
but you can still see the red haze from the smoke.
The smoke is coming from the fires in Arizona,
around Flagstaff area,
and it is about a 4-5 hour drive from Albuquerque.
(About 200 miles from here.)

At 6:22 P.M. the smoke in the sky was a little thicker,
and you could see the red sun through the camera better.
This is a picture taken without the flash.  This is the actual
color of the sky as we see it.

This picture was taken at 6:23 P.M. and it is with a flash.
This fire has burned about 240,000 acres in Arizona, and has
not been contained because of how hot and dry, and windy.
The fire fighters can't get to the hot flames.

Payson and Addi-Belle are looking at the red sun.
This may be a once in a life time experience, so
we thought we would put it in their photo files.

Climbing Up!

Pa has been cutting limbs from the tree, and he
has used the latter to climb up.
He also has cleaned all the leaves and stuff
from the side of the house.
Perhaps it is so he can store his latter here until he needs it again.

But Payson found the latter.
He thought it looked like fun to climb up.

Up, Up, UP.

Payson is so proud of himself.

He climbed to where he could consider it the top.

Yeah Payson!!

Sunday Nursery

Jesus loved the little children.

The list of assignments for the day.
Addi-Belle is supposed to say the closing prayer,
and Payson is supposed to pass out crayons.
The Nursery is for children ages 18 months to 3 years old.
These are pictures of the Nursery for the Academy Heights Ward.
These are supposed to be snow flakes.
The Nursery has photos so they can assign
the children to do different tasks.
One photo is for the opening prayer
one photo is for helping pass out snacks
one photo is for helping pick up toys
The assignments go on to what ever
the leaders (teachers) have for them.
Usually the Nursery is organized into 20 minutes sections.
play time, then snack time, then story time, then song tine,
then craft time,
then game time (such as ring around the rosies.)
It lasts for two hours total.

These are Addi-Belle and Payson.

When the children first go in the Nursery, they
play with some of the toys for a while.

Addi-Belle and Payson are building with
big card-board blocks.

There are other things to play with too.
The pile of rugs on the right is for story time.
The children learn about a story from the
scriptures.

Scout Day Camp 2011

The Scout Day Camp Orion went to this year
is at the Collette Park Elementary School.
All scouts from Tigers to Webelos were invited.
There were two camps set up, but this one
is the one that fit into Orion's schedule because
Orion is going to summer school too.
This camp is from June 1st to the 3rd
from 8:45 to 4:00.
It is a long day.

There are all different kinds of activities for the boys to do.
This one looks like it may be archery.  The boys
are split into age groups and then they each visit
different stations like a round robin.
There are crafts, sports & games,
Scout skills, BB-Guns, Archery, Science & Nature
and special events.

Each group made their own flag.  Orion is holding up the
flag at the closing ceremony, where they are taking
the American sflag down.  The groups are lined up watching.

This is the flag the Webelos made

All the boys signed their name.  Orion's favorite
color is yellow, and he signed his name
in cursive yellow writing.

Orion and another boy holding up the flag
so Ma could get a picture.  The boys
probably colored some of their favorite
activities on it.

All the scouts got a special Scout Day Camp Tee-Shirt
The white mark on Orion's is his name tag.

Thumbs up to a fun day.  It got to be
around 90* today.
Orion said that it was hot.  They were
outside all day.

Good thing Orion has transition glasses
that automatically turn into sun glasses.

Building a Fort

Orion thought it would be fun to build a fort.
He has a little kit that makes a building.

Payson and Addi-Belle thought it would be fun too.
They are helping Orion.

They are holding it while Orion fixes the wire poles

Is it this way, or that way?  It is confusing
how to put this thing together.

Payson and Addi-Belle know how to hold it though

Finally, Pa comes to the rescue and helps
put the poles into the fort.

He had to remove them first since they were on
the wrong side of the fort.

Yeah!! It is up.  Now for some fun!

We all fit, but it is a little snug.

If we put blankets on top it makes it even
more fun.
Peek a boo, we see Payson

We see Addii-Belle too.
