ART AND LITERACY NIGHT

On March 1, 2012 the Arroyo Del Oso Elementary School
had it's annual Art and Literacy night.  Everyone is invited.
All the classrooms display art projects that the kids have been
working on, and every one can view them.  It is really fun to see
what kinds of imaginations they all have.  Oh!  Bye the way,
it was also a Pajama night.  All the kids could wear their PJ's.

We especially liked the photo place in the library
where you got to cuddle with a gigantic
stuffed animal.
Addi-Belle is practically buried alive.
Orion is 11 years old, and he is small compared
to the huge bear he is sitting next to.

We took another side shot to get Addi-Belle in.
She is curled up into a little ball.
The next spot we went to was the Hula room.
There were these Hula Dancers dressed up,
and they taught everyone the Hula dance.
There was a specific song they told us,
and then they showed us the hand motions
that went along with the words.
Macy with the twins Addii-Belle and Payson,
and Orion listening to the tale of the song.
The ladies are also showing them the moves.

The last place we all went was to the story room.
Coach "G" was reading a bunch of stories.
You could stay there for as long as you wanted.
All the kids got comfy-cozy.
The storys were very short (about 5-7 pages)

Orion  loved story time.
We left and went home after that.
We got the treat (dessert) before
we went around to the different projects.

Birthday for twins

On February 27, 2012 Addison Belle and Payson Brae turned three years old.
They have been such a joy in the lives of everyone they have come in contact with
It was a fun day to celebrate with them.
First, the day started out by Pa putting up the jumping gym.  Addi-Belle, Payson,
and Orion jumped in her for hours and hours.  They pretty much spent the entire
day in this jumping gym.

They each got to blow out their own candles
on their own cake.
We ate dinner first, and then
had cake and last
we opened the gifts

Orion loves to help and that is exactly what he did.

Orion is now an official BOY SCOUT

ORION MARTIN IN THE SPOTLIGHT

ORION MARTIN graduated from cub scouts.
He is now a BOY SCOUT of America.
Orion at the Blue and Gold Banquet

Orion is wearing his Webelo's outfit.
The cub scouts made robots
out of tin cans for the table decorations.

Orion in the middle getting his food
Pa is at the left behind him several people
Orion is getting tortillas and a roll.

This is during the flag ceremony.
Orion is behind the flag.
This is a skit where the cub scouts are building
something important.

They are building it behind the blanket.

They built these boy scouts,
Orion and Aiden

The papers pinned on them are words with
character traits that represent
what a boy scout needs to have.
Aiden and Orion with Trina Butler, the Pack Leader

Orion walked over the bridge that led
from cub scouts into boy scouts.

Denette Dabling and another
leader were there to greet him.
He is not a Webelo any more.
They gave him a new scarf to put around his collar.

They put the new scarf around Aiden as well.

The month before the banquet,
the boys had to earn fake money for doing good deeds.
This was so they could bid on an auction
of things donated.  The things donated
where new or used but in good shape.

Pa is checking out the items for auction.

Orion is checking out the things for auction.
The bike is included in the auction.
Trina Butler is the auctioner, and the other lady
we don't know the name, but she is holding
what we thought was the most unusual bid item.
It is a huge stuffed trout.
It went high, (about $300)
The boys loved it.
Orion got everything he bid on.
He really wanted the key board.
But he came home with extra things,
(a tin water bottle, and
a pin-pong game set)
and that made Orion extra happy.

Addi-Belle's hurt hand

Payson and AddiBelle are doing really good at learning to
go potty in the potty seat.  They are getting to where they will
just go with out asking for help.   This is what happened the day
Addi-Belle got her hand shut in the bathroom door.  Payson wanted
to go potty, and Addi-Belle was playing with him.  He shut the door,
but little did he know that it was right on Addi-Belle's poor little
left hand.  Addi-Belle could hardly know what was going on herself.
She screamed, and we all came running to see what the matter was.
Addi-Belle's hand was on the left side of the door.
The door was completely closed.

All of Addi-Belle's fingers were caught in the door.
She cried for one whole hour.
We decided to take her to Lovelace urgent care.
When we got there, we found that there was a
two hour wait.  We took her to After Hours Pediactric,
which only takes appointments.  We went there,
and they made an appointment for 20 minutes later

Addi-Belle held her poor little fingers.
This is her waiting in the foyer at
After Hours Pediatric.
They have interesting windows that
got the kid's attention.
There was also a hugh magnetic board,
Payson especially loved this and played
on it for quite some time.

The doctor (Peggy (Margaret) Hoemeke) looked at Addi-Belle's hand.
She was really gentle and nice with Addi-Belle.

The doctor decided to go ahead and get an Xray,
so ironically, we had to go back to the Lovelace Urgent
care where we already were earlier.  The good thing is
that we would just go straight to Xray.
We went to the Xray and then came back
to After Hours Pediactics, and the doctor wrapped
Addi-Belle's hand.  It will help keep her fingers
straight and to minimize the swelling.
Lots of Tylonel for Addi-Belle tonight.
The Xray shows that her fingers only got
smashed.  There were no breaks.
No more fingers in doors please !!!

Bubba's Birthday

February 24, 2012 is Bubba's birthday.
We all piled into the truck and headed on down
to Bubba's house to give him his birthday gifts.
Bubba opened Orion's card first.
It was one that played the theme song
from "Indiana Jones"
Look at Orion's face.

Next Bubba opened a gift from Michelle, his sister.

It was something he really wanted.  A fleece
blanket with an eagle design.

This was a gift from Ma and Pa.  It is
a money clip and pocket knife with an eagle design.
The theme for his birthday seemed to be eagles.

Bubba got quite a few gifts as well,
Ma and Pa also gave him a gift card for him
and his sweetie to go to dinner,
and he also got another gift card to
another restaurant and another gift card
(three total)
Michelle (his girlfriend) got him some of his favorite
collectibles of Miami Dolphins.
(some dice, and a license plate)
