The Eclispe

Albuquerque was one of the places that the Eclipse of the moon going in
front of the sun was going to be the most visible.  Everyone here was anxiously
waiting for the event.  It was going to be between 7:32 and 7:38 PM
on May 20, 2012. 
People in the neighborhood went outside to see the eclipse.

Ma tried to see if her camera could take a

photo of the sun.

It would not.  She tried an experiment,

and it worked.....well sort of.

It would not focus very well, but she DID get

one photo to focus.  It turned out great.

This is taken through a double layer of black trash bags.

It turned out very focused considering that it was through a bag.

Christian's Graduation

Christian Graduated from High School.  He is the first of all the gradkids to graduate.
No one can believe that Christian is 18 years old already.  Where did all those years go?

Monique's Graduation Celebration

This week we were able to attend Monique's

Graduation Celebration.

There are fires in New Mexico again this year.  There is so much smoke
in the air, it gives some people a head ache.  People are asked to stay indoors
and not turn on the swamp cooler (which blows air in from outside) because
of respiratory problems.  Central Air conditioning is OK to use though.
Our home smells like barbeque potato chips.  The air seeps in even when
all the windows and doors are shut.
But in spite of the smoke problems, it makes a beautiful atmosphere in
the evening.

These were taken at different times

in the day.  There was no filter used.

Yep...That's Orion

Orion got written up at school on May 9,  2012.  The write up
is called being tagged.   It is to let the parent know when the
teacher thinks there is a problem behavior.  Sometimes the
bad behavior will lead to retention from recess, time in office,
conference with student, parent contact, out of school suspension etc.
Well Orion came home with a "tag" and this is what it said.:

Orion was sitting in teacher's chair with cushion,

and tied it to himself. 

Mrs. Parker had to cut it with scissors to get it off.

Yep, that's Orion.

Pa and Ma could not help but laugh,

before they signed this one to send back.

Orion was at the Public Safety Day over at Target. He was on the news, and he was also able
To sit in a fire truck, police car, SWAT vehicle, BAT vehicle.   He got into a state police boat, and helicopter. He had a great day. Jack and Jaycen Martin (Orion's cousins) were with him.
We are trying to get the news footage. We did not even know Orion was on the news until a friend told us.......that is our luck.

Mother's Day 2012

Mother's day was on May 13, 2012 this year.  Pa was especially prepared
this year, and got Orion to help in his plans.  This was a great idea, and
so Orion was so very excited about the event.  On the morning of Mother's day,
Orion could not sleep any longer, and he came and woke Pa up at 5:00 AM
but Pa told him it was much too early and wait a little bit longer.
Orion came back at 6:00 AM and so Pa just went ahead and got out of bed too.
Around 7:00, Orion came in where I was still asleep and handed me a letter.

The letter said:  "Dear Ma,

Stay up here because Me and Pa are making

and surprize for you,

from, Orion"

Well, I just stayed up in bed until I was told.

But what happened is Pa and Orion made me

breakfast in bed.  It was a special treat.

Cherry covered pancakes with whipped cream.

I also got bacon and sausage links.

So yummy and started out my day great.

Pa and Orion gave me flowers,

and chocolates with a card each.

In church that day, Orion made another gift.

The letter says:

"Dear Ma,

I made a present for you.  I have a good

time with Pa and you.  I love you.

From, Orion"

His gift from church was a bookmark

with butterfly stickers on it.

Pa made dinner as well  It was a gourmet dinner.

Grilled seasoned salmon, corn on the cob,

garlic bread, vegetable with cheese sauce,

and fresh garden salad.

My day was a very special one.
